Kinesiology Treatment
What can I expect during a kinesiology treatment?
At your first treatment we will discuss in complete confidence, your health history, your current symptoms and concerns and any other relevant information to give me a real understanding of your health issues.
I will then carry out specific muscle tests, which will help me understand what is going on inside and identify the specific treatment your body needs.
The key to resolving your health issues is to look beyond the symptoms and establish the root cause, which can often be related to a number of factors, including stress, injury, emotional trauma or poor diet.
Depending on the reason for your visit, a treatment will consist of various techniques to restore balance to the affected parts of the body. These may include massaging lymphatic points, stimulating acupuncture points, structural realignments, emotional stress releasing techniques, food testing, dietary advice, Reiki, Bach Flower Remedies or nutritional supplements.
Every treatment is different and specifically tailored to the persons needs at that time. I may for example, see two people, both with shoulder pain, but their treatment will be totally different, as I will be treating the person not the condition.
A kinesiology session is very informative and a lot of information can be detected through muscle testing, so I’m happy to answer any questions you may have at any point.
At the end of the sessions we will discuss any realistic lifestyle or dietary changes you may need to make, so you are able to regain your health as quickly as possible.
What do I need to wear?
Treatments are carried out fully clothed. Ideally you should wear loose comfortable clothes and preferably trousers.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
I will need details of any supplements or medications you are currently taking.
You can bring any supplements with you, if you would like me to test them to see if they are the right ones for you.
Also, if you suspect something you are eating or drinking may be causing you a problem, then bring any samples of the food or drink with you.
Who do I work with and what if someone can’t be muscle tested?
I work with people of all ages, including, babies, children, teenagers and adults.
If for some reason you can’t be muscle tested, for example, babies, young children, an elderly person, or if someone is in pain, then I can use a surrogate which is very effective. Babies are usually tested using mum as a surrogate.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies according to the individual, the reason for your visit, and often how long you have had the problem.
Kinesiology is a powerful therapy and although you will see results from your 1st appointment, there is often no quick fix for many health issues. It may take several sessions to get to the root cause of the problem. Some long term issues, and especially deep emotional issues, may take a longer period of time as different layers are worked through.
Once the problem has been treated and any imbalances corrected, it is recommended that you have regular treatments to prevent ill health in the future.
Is Kinesiology right for me?
This is a question people often ask me, and my answer is always, yes, it can benefit everyone.
It is a gentle, non-invasive safe treatment, which can be used effectively in conjunction with other medical treatments.
If you have had lots of tests and can’t find out what is wrong or you’re just not feeling well, but can’t pinpoint why, then kinesiology may just be the answer for you.
It helps you become more aware of your body, of the things that cause imbalances in your life, what works for you and what doesn’t.
It enables me to access your entire system and find out what’s really going on inside your body.
It is a truly unique therapy, and there is no better way to find out what it actually involves, than to try it.
Do I need to take supplements?
Nutrition is only one of the aspects I look at, and it isn’t always the answer.
I work with your body to find out what is the priority need for the body to heal itself. It may be structural work if you have had an injury, emotional work if you’re dealing with anxiety or a trauma or a more gentle treatment balancing your energies.
If it’s nutrition that shows as a priority, then muscle testing can pinpoint the exact supplement that is needed, and you will clearly be able to see the effect it has on your body and how it strengthens you.
Our bodies need vitamins, minerals, oils and a wide range of naturally occurring chemicals. Although it is desirable to get everything your body needs from the food we eat, it can sometimes be hard to get all the nutrition needed to achieve optimum health.
This is especially true at times of ill health and prolonged stress where there may be an increased need for extra nutrition.
You may only need to take supplements for a short period of time to restore balance to your body.
Not all nutritional supplements, though, are the same and many include additives, colourings, flavours and binders, which may not be effective and be a waste of money.
I have no particular allegiance to any one specific nutrition company but I only test and recommend supplements which are of the highest quality.
If taking supplements is something you really don’t want to do, then don’t let that stop you coming for a treatment. I’m always open to discussing alternatives and I’ll give dietary advice about how to get the nutrition your body needs to recover.
Can kinesiology help with digestion problems?
There are many warning signs that your digestive system is not working properly. These may include bloating, stomach pain, acid reflux, constipation, diarrhoea, indigestion and several other symptoms which you may not realise are due to an imbalance in your digestive system.
These are symptoms people just learn to live with, but you don’t have to. Kinesiology can help find out what’s causing the problems and restore balance to your digestive system.
I can identify what foods are causing you a problem, and through muscle testing I will show you what effect certain foods are having on your body.
I do not subscribe to clients following one particular dietary plan, as I believe everybody has different needs and requirements, so I will assess your needs individually. Together we can find out what your body needs to achieve optimum health.
If you suspect something you eat is having a negative effect then bring the food with you. Your body will show us if it’s something you should avoid.
