What is Kinesiology?
Have you ever wished you could find out what’s going on inside your body?
Kinesiology is a truly unique therapy that allows you to do just that.
Our bodies are communicating with us all the time, via twinges, pain, anxiety and many other symptoms. We often ignore or just don’t notice these aches and pains, but it’s often our bodies trying to tell us something and if we ignore these initial symptoms they can develop into more serious health issues.
We take our bodies for granted until they’re not working – a bit like our cars. We regularly service our cars or notice if a warning light comes on and get it fixed. Why don’t we do the same with our bodies if they’re showing signs of not working properly?
For many of my clients their bodies are trying to communicate in many different ways that there is a problem.
If you can answer yes to any of the following questions it might just be a sign that your body needs some help.
- Do you have the feeling that something is just not right?
- Do you have an irrational fear or worry that you just can’t control?
- Do you feel bloated; have heartburn or any other digestive issues?
- Have you had lots of tests, but can’t find out what the problem is?
- Do you suffer from migraines that affect your day to day life?
- Do you have aches and pains you just can’t explain?
- Have you recently had an accident or injured yourself?
- Are there any emotional issues / traumas affecting your life?
- Do you long for a good night’s sleep?
- Does your child have learning difficulties?
- Are you suffering from hormonal issues?
- Do you have headaches or brain fog?
- Do you suffer from skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis or acne?
- Are you stressed or feel you just can’t cope?
- Do you feel anxious or have panic attacks?
It is so important to listen to our bodies.
These are just some of the issues I deal with, and muscle testing enables me to look at these symptoms and establish why there is an imbalance and what your body actually needs.
Sometimes it uncovers the root cause of an issue of which you are unaware. Life’s experiences are all programmed into your subconscious and when you’re young you have no filter – you accept everything, good or bad. These beliefs are buried in your body and sometimes they may cause unexpected symptoms later in life.
If you don’t deal with the root cause and clear it from your body, you will not fully heal.
What the mind suppresses, the body expresses.
In other words if we don’t release negative emotions, they can express themselves in physical symptoms.
Emotional pain, such as anger, resentment, abuse, abandonment, bereavement and fear are often significant factors in many health problems. That is why it is important for our wellbeing to release them when they are causing a problem in our lives.
With bereavement, for example, it is necessary and natural to grieve the loss of a loved one. However, if you can’t release the grief and you lock it inside or you find thinking of those you have lost difficult, even after much time has passed, then a treatment can help you to move past the grief, lessen the pain and allow happy cherished memories to surface.
During a treatment we will discuss issues to identify the root cause (although you don’t need to reveal any more than you wish) to determine what has been trapped in your body. Even if you feel you have dealt with an issue, your body may not agree.
Many people don’t realise that emotions that are trapped in your body from a recent event or from 20 years ago can cause a whole host of problems in your body. A pain in your shoulder, for example, could be caused by an emotion that is trapped in your body, from when you had an accident and injured it. Even with regular physical therapy it may not fully heal until you have released that emotion which is trapped.
I use several different techniques in my practice to help clients deal with emotional issues and, unlike other therapies, you don’t need to disclose the actual issue if you prefer not to, it can still be released effectively.
This is an aspect of kinesiology I find particularly rewarding, as the relief when someone releases an emotion or negative belief that they have held onto, sometimes since childhood, is immense and can often give a sense of calm and clarity they’ve not experienced for a long time.
Finally
Everyone is unique with their own life story and that is why kinesiology is so effective as it looks at the individual and identifies what they need to restore optimum health.
My aim is to work with people to resolve these issues so they can lead a happy fulfilled life that is symptom free.
Kinesiology can often uncover the underlying causes of ill health that are difficult to find by any other means, so if you have any health problems you would like to discuss then please contact me to discuss how I can help.
